When it comes to owning high level accolades in multiple strength sports at a young age, few athletes compare and stack up to 21 year old Kiara Aston. The United Kingdom based figure competitor and powerlifter has been absolutely destroying weight on the deadlift lately and she recently shared a set that has turned handfuls of heads in the strength industry.
In her recent Instagram video, Aston smokes a 230kg/507 lb set for five reps. This was after she attempted to pull a personal best with 272.5kg/600 lbs on the bar while sitting around a bodyweight of 78kg.
Aston writes in her video post’s description, “230kg x 5 reps (after my PB attempt) So yup haha, i failed 600lb/272.5kg maaan it was heavy. What do we do now? We go back to training like a mothetf***in animal and earn that lift. It’s the first time i’ve properly failed a PB I’ve gone for, so it was actually really humbling.
I wanted to share this with you guys first hand because not everything is always going to go to plan and you guys need to see that not every pull is a good one. EVERY SETBACK IS A SETUP FOR A COMEBACK – remember that and keep pushing.”
Check out the insanely strong set below,
In her post’s comment section, multiple lifters commended her on her efforts after her live stream and pointed out that hoisting 272.5kg to the knees is no small task, and she’ll accomplish it soon enough.
If there’s one thing for certain that we’d bet on, it’s that Aston will most certainly pull 600 lbs in the near future. Last year at the age of 20, she not only became the youngest IFBB Figure Pro in Europe, but she also earned herself the number one rank in the world for wrapped juniors in the U75kg weight class — mind you, this was her first meet.
As Aston continues on her warpath of gaining strength, we’re excited to see what she’s capable of doing as she accumulates more reps with more time.
