The inaugural Arnold Sports Festival UK wrapped up on Oct. 3, 2021. It was a memorable first show in the UK, which featured the first-ever Arnold Strongman Classic UK won by Evan Singleton via tiebreaker against 2020 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Oleksii Novikov. However, that wasn’t the only head-turning moment in strongman in Birmingham, England.

Strongwoman Rhianon Lovelace, who normally competes in the under-64-kilogram class, decided to compete in the Open Division for the Arnold Strongwoman UK Log and Deadlift Championships. She won both the log lift and deadlift events — overhead pressing a 70-kilogram (154.3-pound) log for 11 reps and pulling 180 kilograms (396.8 pounds) for 13 reps.

Each of Lovelace’s deadlift reps was nearly three times her competition bodyweight. As the pound-for-pound strongest woman on the planet, capable of partial deadlifting 5.7-times her own weight, it should not come as a surprise that Lovelace excelled at the Arnold UK.
