2023 Musclecontest Rio Pro Wellness Show Preview

South America’s most popular division is featured in this show.

Many bodybuilding experts and insiders might say that Brazil is the birthplace of the Wellness division, which places emphasis on larger legs and glutes. The division has grown in popularity worldwide, but it’s a feature attraction in South America.

The next pro Wellness show is the 2023 Musclecontest Rio Pro, scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2023, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the second edition of this contest. Julia Chitarra won the contest in 2022.

No athlete in this contest has won a pro show, nor have they qualified for the Wellness Olympia in Wellness before. The roster is below, with names in alphabetical order:

2023 Musclecontest Rio Pro Wellness Roster | Wellness Division

  • Jessica Basso
  • Renata Guaraciaba
  • Rose Lopes
  • Debora Pereira
  • Simara Walter

Five Brazilian competitors are on the roster, the winner of which will earn qualification for the 2023 Wellness Olympia, where they will face the defending champion, Brazil’s own Francielle Mattos.

Jessica Basso

Basso is the 2022 Amateur Olympia Spain Wellness champion. She quickly got to work with her IFBB Pro League card by competing in two shows. She placed sixth in the 2022 Empro Pro and 2022 Mr. Big Evolution Pro. This will be her first competition for the 2023 season.

Renata Buarciaba

Buarciaba is a former Figure pro who competed on the Figure Olympia stage; she was outside the top 15 in 2015. After a five-year hiatus, she entered the Wellness division in 2020.

Buarciaba still seeks her first pro win in the Wellness division. Her highest placing so far is a second in the 2022 Argentina Sur Cup Pro.

Rose Lopes

Lopes is also known as Rose Lopes Atleta. According to NPC News Online, Lopes has no pro contests on record. So, this will be her professional debut.

Simara Walter

Walter earned her pro card in 2022 at the NPC Worldwide Champions Cup Pro Qualifier event in May. She placed 11th in the Empro Pro and 13th in the Mr. Big Evolution Pro. Basso finished ahead of her in both contests.
