Two-time Reebok CrossFit Games champion Tia-Clair Toomey not only finished the grueling first workout of the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games, but dominated the competition.
Toomey was one of four women across all three Heats to actually finish the workout before the 20 minute time cap.
Toomey, who is the reigning 2018 Reebok CrossFit champion, finished with a time of 16:56.3 in the women’s individual first event, which was almost two minutes ahead of her competition.
The first event went like this:
4 rounds for time of:
- 400-m run
- 3 legless rope climbs
- 7 snatches (130 lb)
Toomey cruised through her 400-meter runs, looked strong during her climbs, and her snatches reminded everyone that she is also a decorated weightlifter. Toomey is looking to become the first woman to ever win the Reebok CrossFit Games three times.

We mentioned previously that only four women made the first cut, and the final results looked like this:

There is still a lot of time left before we find out who the Fittest Woman on Earth is, but from the looks of the first event Toomey is a strong favorite heading into the women’s second event.
Before the women’s individual event, Mat Fraser led the way on the men’s individual field, and team Mayhem Freedom dominated the first team event.
