The Clash of the 90s Place at the Table Strongman Contest Scheduled for August 2022

The first American 90-kilogram weight class strongman pro show of its kind. A Clash of the 80s equivalent is also in the works for 2022.

Strongman athletes who compete in lighter weight categories have a lot to look forward to in 2022. U.S. Army veteran and a two-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Under 105-kilograms Anthony Fuhrman took to his Instagram page on Nov. 18, 2021, to announce that 2022 will be the inaugural year for the Strengthlete Collective’s Clash of the 90s Place at the Table strongman contest. It will feature elite 90-kilogram strongmen and, per Fuhrman, it will be the “first-ever American 90-kilogram pro show.”

The table is set. Time to earn your place.

While no specific date or location has yet been announced, the Clash of the 90s contest is scheduled for August 2022. Additionally, a similar contest titled Clash of the 80s Place at the Table will also be held sometime in 2022 and feature 80-kilogram strongmen.

The Clash of the 90s and Clash of the 80s are not the first strongman contests to be announced by Fuhrman, nor the first of the “Clash” series. Strengthlete Collective, of which Fuhrman is a coach, runs the Clash on the Coast Super Series for 105-kilogram strongmen.

2022 Clash on the Coast Super Series Contests

Two of the contests for the 2022 Super Series are complete — the Clash at the Corrall and the Clash in the Rockies. The Clash in Jersy and Clash on Cumberland contests are scheduled for the first quarter of 2022, culminating with the 2022 Clash on the Coast Weekend on April 22-24, 2022.

  • 2021 Clash in the Rockies | Oct. 9, 202

  • 2022 Clash on the Cumberland | Jan. 15, 2022

The 2021 Clash on the Coast contest was won by Nicolas Cambi and was live-streamed on CoreSports.world in collaboration with World’s Ultimate Strongman (WUS). Cambi went on to set U105KG block press and log lift world records at the Clash at the Corrall and win America’s Strongest Man (ASM) at 105-kilograms.

This article will be updated when more details regarding the dates and locations of the Clash of the 90s and Clash of the 80s contests become available.
