First International Online Qualifier Announced for Multiple CrossFit Sanctionals™

The international online qualifier WOD 1 was released in a live announcement featuring top CrossFit athletes.

It’s hard to believe that we’re quickly approaching the 2019-2020 Reebok CrossFit Games season already. The 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games concluded earlier this month, and now news is continuing to trickle in around what to expect for the new season. The latest news features the first international online qualifying workout that multiple Sanctionals™ will use as a preliminary test.

This year’s Reebok CrossFit Games Sanctionals™ season will kick off in November with the CrossFit Filthy 150 in Dublin, Ireland. CrossFit Filthy 150 is just one of four Sanctionals that will all use the same international online qualifier (IOQ). The international online qualifier (IOQ) will officially begin on August 21st and will include the Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival, the CrossFit Atlas Games, and the SouthFit Challenge, along with the CrossFit Filthy 150.

The Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival announced the first workout of the IOQ on their Instagram page. The announcement was a live workout/reveal featuring some top CrossFit athletes.

The IOQ first workout will be:

9-minute as many reps as possible (AMRAP)

  • 3 Hang Power Snatch 75/55
  • 3 Overhead Squat 75/55
  • 30 Double Unders

[Barbell reps increase by three reps each round 3/3, 6/6, 9/9]

The Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival also announced the workout on their Facebook page, and even highlighted Reebok CrossFit Games athletes like Pat Vellner, Kari Pearce, Dani Speegle, Chandler Smith, and others doing the workout for the live announcement.

We’re not entirely sure who won the WOD 1, however, on Instagram it looked like they were pitting the battle between Smith and Speegle. Smith and Speegle were both fresh off competing at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games, but showed no signs of post-Games fatigue at the CrossFit Hype gym in East Boca Raton, Florida on Monday night.

Last week, the date for the first workout for the 2019-2020 Reebok CrossFit Games Open was announced to be released on October 10th. While we’re going to have to wait a couple more months for the Open workout, the folks hyping up the Wodapalooza CrossFit Festival IOQ workout have us all fired up for the new season to start.
