Strength fans, get ready! The Arnold Sports Festival is only two days away and Rogue Fitness is continuing to stagger out their “Road to the Arnold” videos.
In Rogue Fitness’ latest release on their YouTube channel, they follow 2019 World’s Strongest Man Martins Licis as he preps for this year’s Arnold Strongman Classic competition. At last year’s competition, Licis took second place behind Hafthor Bjornsson and this was only his second time competing on this stage.
After his big 2019 World’s Strongest Man win, the bar has been set incredibly high for Licis’, and he has one goal in mind as he heads to Columbus, Ohio: win the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic. However, this feat is certainly not going to come easy. Seriously, if you love the sport of strongman, or strength sports in general really, check out the video below!

As he points out in the video, he’ll likely need to win two events outright to bring home first place, and this is on top of finishing with competitive placing in the other events. The Wheel of Pain, Elephant Bar Deadlift, and Timber Carry are all events Licis states he knows he can competitive in. In fact to conclude the video, Licis states,
“We have the Timer Carry, an event that Mateusz is legendary at. But this year I want to beat him. This year, I’m going to beat him on the Timber Carry.”
The above quote might seem like your normal pre-competitive competitive banter, but Licis has a history of backing up what he says.
Back in June of 2019, we interviewed him for an Instagram post, and when asked about what he’s looking forward to at the World’s Strongest Man, he confidently told us that he’s looking forward to winning tit. And we all know how that ended.
Can Martins “The Dragon” Licis dethrone Hafthor Bjornsson this year? The world is waiting to find out.
