These gummies boast 4g of creatine monohydrate and come in a delicious strawberry flavor. You do need to chew 5 for a full dose, but they're so tasty, we don't think you'll have any complaints about that.

Main Takeaways

  • Swoly Creatine Gummies can deliver 4 grams of creatine monohydrate per five-gummy serving.
  • While enjoyable, these creatine gummies are only available in one flavor offering — Strawberry.
  • Swoly Creatine Gummies are manufactured with equipment that also processes known allergens such as dairy, eggs, tree nuts, and more, making them a less optimal option for vegans or athletes with known sensitivities.

As one of the best creatine gummies on the market today, Swoly Creatine Gummies come in containers featuring 30 servings per tub — a similar count to creatine supplements in powdered form. According to the brand, a single serving equates to five gummy bears. These low-sugar, gelatin-free, gluten-free gummies are available for roughly $1.17 per serving, but Swoly also offers a ‘Subscribe & Save’ service that can help you save 30% on repeat monthly orders.

Formulation-wise, these chewable creatine vessels deliver 4 grams of creatine monohydrate per serving. “Studies suggest that optimal creatine servings sit between 3 and 5 grams daily,” notes Chelsea Rae Bourgeois, registered dietitian nutritionist and our expert contributor. (2) “I really like that Swoly hits the mark here for optimal creatine intake. Plus, it’s parceled out across five chews, almost making it feel like a mini-sized snack on its own.”

Outside of the creatine monohydrate, these Swoly bears include 4 grams of carbs and 2.5 grams of total sugars (all of which are from added sugars) per serving. Other ingredients include sucrose, dextrose, pectin, maltodextrin, natural and artificial flavors, fruit and vegetable juices for color, stearic acid, citric acid, and carnauba wax to help keep the bears from sticking to one another within the packaging.

Swoly Creatine Mono Gummies are only available in one flavor, Strawberry, which may be to the dismay of some palates. The formulation is also third-party tested for label purity and accuracy, although we have no information on which accrediting lab performed the tests.

Who Should Use / Who Shouldn’t Use Swoly Creatine Gummies

Not every one of the best pre-workout supplements is for every athlete, and the same goes for creatine gummies like Swoly. Below are a few camps we recommend Swoly Creatine Gummies for along with some groups that may fare better with a different creatine option.

Recommended for:

  • Athletes that prefer their creatine supplementation in gummy form over powder
  • Those looking for a quick, simplified way to unlock the benefits of creatine
  • People who aren’t averse to a single flavor option

Not Recommended for:

  • Athletes with sensitivities to known allergens — these creatine gummies are made with equipment that processes milk, egg, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and wheat
  • Those looking for a flavor variety beyond a single Strawberry offering
  • Budget-minded athletes seeking a creatine supplement below $1 per serving

Our Experience Using Swoly Creatine Gummies

We’ve tested over 40 different creatine supplements over the years, including various types of creatine, supplement forms, and more. We used those experiences to frame how we examined Swoly Creatine Gummies, focusing on key categories including formulation, taste, level of convenience, price per serving, and more. From there, we rated our findings on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest) to give you more quantifiable feedback. Now, let’s get into our experience.

Ingredients and Formulation

Common perks associated with creatine supplementation include muscle growth, brain health, and exercise performance. (3) However, those perks cannot be reaped if your supplement of choice is underserving when it comes to the valuable compound. Current studies suggest a daily intake between 3 and 5 grams, although some athletes can opt for a creatine loading phase that calls for higher consumption of 20 grams daily for roughly one week before tapering off to the regular 3- to 5-gram serving. (1)(2) This loading phase may increase muscle saturation, although it’s not completely necessary.

Regardless of your dosage protocol, Swoly Creatine Gummies can deliver with 4 grams of creatine monohydrate per serving. This, according to Chelsea Rae Bourgeois, our expert contributor, truly elevates the candy-inspired supplements to the likes of other popular creatine powders. “Having an effective dose is so important to setting yourself up for success with creatine,” she adds. “While further studies are needed on creatine gummies, specifically, I think Swoly hit the nail on the head when it comes to the recommended dosage here.”

As impressive as the creatine counts are with Swoly Creatine Gummies, we do rate the formulation at 4 out of 5 given the presence of some artificial flavors and 2.5 grams of added sugar. Yes, the use of dextrose does give these gummy bears that all-too-enticing sweetness, but excessive consumption of added sugars can lead to a potential increased risk of a variety of chronic diseases including obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, per studies. (4)

Taste

Another must-have feature of any well-respected supplement? It has to taste good! Thankfully, there’s no shortage of flavor with these creatine gummies. Kate Meier, BarBend editorial team member and certified personal trainer, says, “I cannot get enough of these. They make my supplement regimen like a trip to the candy store. The strawberry flavor is perfect, and I’d easily pick these over a powder or capsule.”

It’s no surprise, then, that we score Swoly Creatine Gummies a perfect 5 out of 5 in the taste category. That said, we understand that some may be more enticed by different flavor offerings. As stated above, Swoly Creatine Gummies are only available in a singular Strawberry variety, whereas other creatine gummies (more on some of those later) are offered in multiple tastes including Grape, Blue Raspberry, and Orange among others.

As enjoyable as these bears are, though, I’d still recommend vegans or those with known sensitivities to known allergens steer clear of these creatine treats. While Swoly Creatine Gummies are low-sugar, gelatin-free, and gluten free, they’re manufactured on equipment that also processes milk, soy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and wheat. This can potentially lead to cross-contamination, so it may be best to play it safe. There are also no notes on this creatine gummy being non-GMO.

Convenience

When weighing the pros and cons of creatine, you’re likely to find that the benefits outweigh the negatives. Aside from potential side effects such as bloating and water retention, there’s a lot of potential good from adding creatine to your diet. That said, how convenient is your creatine of choice? Do you need a bulky shaker bottle to mix up a proper serving, or a separate beverage to glug down a handful of capsules?

With Swoly Creatine Gummies, there are no extra necessities to consume the proper serving. Simply grab five gummy bears from the container and eat them as you would your favorite treat. “I really like the ease of use with these gummies,” says Kate Meier, BarBend editorial team member and our expert contributor. “There’s no mixing to be had or capsules to choke down. I’d give these a 5 out of 5 any day thanks to their hassle-free composition.”

It should be noted, though, that the five-bear serving size may seem doable to most (especially those that get a taste of the strawberry sweetness at play), we understand that everyone’s appetite is different. If you’re looking for a creatine gummy with fewer gummies per serving, be sure to shop around and pick a formulation that fits your needs best.

Price Per Serving

These creatine monohydrate gummies from Swoly come in at roughly $1.17 per serving. Additionally, the brand offers a ‘Subscribe & Save’ service that can help lessen your total cost by 30% on every repeat monthly order. While this $1.17 cost per serving is on the lower end of the $1 to $2 average we’ve found in other creatine gummies, it’s still more expensive than the average $0.84 we’ve come to associate with high-quality creatine powders.

We rate the price per serving at 2 out of 5, too, given that you’re oftentimes able to purchase creatine powder and capsule supplements in larger container sizes, giving you higher stocks of creatine for longer periods of time. With Swoly Creatine Gummies, you can only purchase 30-serving containers. Of course, though, if you’d like to save the most money, you can always eliminate creatine supplements entirely and instead focus on building your nutrition plan around foods with creatine already present in their makeup.

Third-Party Testing

Swoly Creatine Gummies are labeled as being third-party tested, and the label seems transparent enough with clear servings marked for each ingredient. However, we have no information as to which lab performed the third-party testing, leaving room for some questions surrounding the claim. As such, we rate these creatine gummies at a conservative 3 out of 5 for the category.

What to Consider Before Buying Swoly Creatine Gummies

Just like when searching for some of the best protein powders, there are a few factors worth thinking through before adding Swoly Creatine Gummies — or any creatine supplement — to your cart. Below are some suggested considerations to have on the brain as you determine which creatine is right for your needs and wants.

  • Form of Creatine: Dr. Charlie Seltzer, MD tells BarBend: “There are many forms of creatine, but old school monohydrate has the most research behind it, and that is what I recommend. Some companies say you need less of certain forms as they are more absorbable, but when you look at cost and research, monohydrate remains the best option [in my opinion].” Other forms of creatine include creatine HCl, micronized creatine, creatine ethyl ester, creatine phosphate, and more.
  • Creatine Dosage: Current studies suggest that the recommended dose for creatine supplementation is between 3 and 5 grams daily. (1)(2) As such, you’ll need to ensure your supplement of choice can deliver this quantity without the need for extra scoops or servings.
  • Additional Ingredients: You can find creatine in plenty of other supplements including some of the best pre-workouts with creatine, protein powders, and others. Think through your fitness goals and whether you’d prefer to combine these compounds or simply invest in a creatine-only supplement.
  • Price Per Serving: Creatine powders can average roughly $0.84 per serving while creatine gummies, given their specialization, can range between $1 and $2 per serving. Think through your personal budget and opt for a creatine supplement that suits your finances best.

Swoly Creatine Gummies Vs. Competitors

You can go back and forth between creatine gummies versus creatine powder, but nowadays, there’s plenty of competition within the gummy category, too. Below, we’ve provided a side-by-side comparison to two popular creatine gummy formulations we feel match up well to Swoly Creatine Gummies — Bear Balanced Creatine Gummies and Create Creatine Gummies.

Despite the name, Bear Balanced Creatine Gummies feature a gummy shape I can only compare to that of a fidget spinner. This gives them more of a fruit snack vibe as opposed to Swoly’s gummy bear aesthetic. Looks aside, Bear Balanced offers its gummies in a wider range of flavors, which may be beneficial for certain palates. However, we still recommend Swoly for budget-conscious athletes given the higher cost per serving with Bear Balanced. You’re also getting a heftier 4-gram dose of creatine monohydrate per serving with Swoly, which can help better support performance needs. (1)(2)(3)

Create Creatine Gummies are small blocks shape-wise and come in flavors including Orange, Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, and Sour Green Apple. These cubed gummies can also deliver 4.5 grams of creatine per 3-gummy serving. That said, these are some of the more expensive creatine gummies on the market, which we attribute to the extra sense of purity showcased by the NSF-Certified for Sport accreditation.

One positive customer response from getswoly.com reads, “The gummy bears taste great and have no chalky taste or texture. Plus, the price is significantly lower than other brands. Great product!”

Our Final Verdict on Swoly Creatine Gummies

Given its enjoyable taste and effective creatine dose for helping build muscle, increase strength, boost cognitive function, and more, we feel Swoly Creatine Gummies are a fine example of the best creatine for teens, beginners, seasoned vets, and everyone in-between. (1)(2)(3) The use of artificial sweeteners may not agree with everyone, but if your stomach can stomach the extra sweetness, we think these chewy, delectable bears can fit comfortably in virtually any supplement regimen.

In addition to choosing a creatine format such as powder, capsules, or gummies, you’ll also want to think about how much creatine you’re actually getting per serving. Remember that current studies suggest between 3 and 5 grams daily for optimal results. (1)(2) Pay attention to prices that align with your finances, and you could soon be unlocking a whole new level of performance with a supplement as sweet as it is supportive.
