The 2022 Arnold Strongman South America contest took place on April 30, 2022, in São Paulo, Brazil, and featured six strongmen competing across five events vying for the title. The events included a Dumbbell Press, a Deadlift, a Super Yoke, the Atlas Stones, and a Truck Pull.
According to Strongman Archives, Joachim Kvick of Sweden claimed the crown with three points to spare over Tiago Aparecido of Brazil. Here are the full results:

The Dumbbell Press event was for max reps in 60 seconds with a 110-kilogram (242.5-pound) dumbbell. The Deadlift event was also for max reps in 60 seconds with 365 kilograms (804.7 pounds) on the barbell.
The Super Yoke was a distance event with a 60-second time cap with a 450-kilogram (992.8-pound) yoke. The Atlas Stones consisted of six implements that ranged from 140 kilograms (308.7 pounds) to 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds).

Joachim Kvick’s Strongman Career

The next major strongman contest is the grandest in the sport: the 2022 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) contest, scheduled for May 24-29, 2022, in Sacramento, CA. Thirty of the top strongmen in the world, including reigning WSM champion Tom Stoltman, will challenge for the throne. While Kvick is not on the 2022 WSM roster, his showing in São Paulo gives him a strong case for an invite in 2023.
