Few bodybuilders have as much hype surrounding them as Michal Križo does right now. Though Križo hasn’t even qualified for December’s Mr. Olympia competition yet, former winners like Jay Cutler and Samir Bannout are already touting him as one of this year’s favorites.
Križo has taken advantage of being such a hot topic in bodybuilding by launching a YouTube channel to show off his workouts and take part in Q&A sessions. And in the most recent interview show, Križo talks about a number of topics, including his workout split, max bench press, supplement routine, and goals for this year’s Olympia, should he qualify. Michal Križo’s Training Split
When it comes to training schedules, Križo’s is fairly straightforward. He trains Monday through Friday, with weekends off. Here’s the breakdown:
- Monday: Quads
- Tuesday: Chest and biceps
- Wednesday: Hamstring and calves
- Thursday: Back
- Friday: Chest and shoulders
What about his off-days? Križo says those are mainly spent “on a couch.”
Križo’s Supplement Routine
Regarding supplements, Križo says he takes an assortment of vitamins, dextrose, BCAAs, ashwagandha, and protein powder. He also uses creatine in the off-season, since he doesn’t eat much beef outside of prep months.

When asked if his coach comes up with his supplement and diet plan, Križo says he likes to think of it as a two-way street.
“It’s a dialogue we have, and then we both decide what suits me and what doesn’t,” he says through a translator. “He never tells me, ‘You have to do this.’ […] You have to tell him if it suits you or not.”
Olympia Hopes
The conversation inevitably turned toward the Olympia, which Križo still isn’t qualified for. (He first needs to obtain IFBB Pro league status and then win an IFBB Pro League show.) He says if he does end up on the O stage this year, he hopes to finish in the top 10 and the top six in 2023.
Max Effort
And lastly, the most important question: How much does Križo bench press, squat, and deadlift? While he says he doesn’t train these moves anymore, his last one-rep max on the bench press was 250 kilograms (551 pounds) around two years ago. For both squat and deadlift, he got up to 270 kilograms (595 pounds). That deadlift mark came back in 2016.
What’s Next for Michal Križo?
On September 14, 2022, Križo posted a physique update four weeks out from competing at the Amateur Olympia show in Italy from Oct. 8-9.
If Križo wins in Italy and earns pro status, he says he would likely compete at the Prague Pro in late October to hopefully qualify for the Olympia.
