2024 HYROX Elite 15 Season — Major Races Schedule Revealed & Chicago Preview

November 9, 2023 by Phil Blechman

The first race of the HYROX Elite 15 season takes place on Nov. 11, 2023, at the Chicago Navy Pier in Chicago, IL. It is the first of four Major races that implement the new Elite 15 structure in HYROX competition — the Elite 15 are the athletes with the fastest 15 times in their respective divisions who garner invites to compete at the HYROX World Championships.

HYROX Elite 15 — Major Races

The four Major Elite 15 races are:

  • HYROX Chicago — Nov. 11, 2023
  • HYROX Scandinavian — Stockholm, Dec. 7, 2023
  • HYROX European — Vienna, Feb. 10, 2024
  • HYROX US — Washington, March 7, 2024

What Are the Majors?

Per HYROX, “the Majors are four regional events that athletes must qualify to race in.” The Majors follow a grid format races that are live-streamed. Qualified participants can earn cash prizes and slots for the HYROX World Championships. Each Major race hosts an Elite 15 event for the male and female divisions.

How to Qualify for Majors

Qualification for Major races is achieved through the following:

  • Auto Qualification via 22/23 Season Elite 15 Results
    •  Athletes who ranked first, second, and third overall from the previous year’s HYROX World Championships
    • HYROX North American champions
    • HYROX European Championships winners
  • Time Qualification
    • The remaining slots shall be awarded to the fastest recorded times from Jan 1, 2023, to the end of the 23/24 season.
    • If a prequalified athlete declines their invite, that slot is passed down to the next fastest qualifying time.
    • Qualifying times must be recorded at least two weeks prior to each race.

Fifteen male and 15 female athletes qualify to race at each Major race. Each Major race qualifies up to three athletes for the World Championship race (the athletes who finish on the podium).

How to Watch the 2023 HYROX Majors

The male and female races for the HYROX Chicago Major will be live-streamed on the HYROX YouTube channel on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at 11:40 a.m. CST.

The men’s roster in Chicago also does not feature some of HYROX’s most notable names, including Joffrey Voisin, Florian Gast, Michael Sandbach, Jannik Czapla.
