Life Fitness is known for their reliable and comfortable treadmills, and the Club Series Plus meets modern expectations with technology that offers runners many up-to-date conveniences. While these features come with a steep price tag compared to the rest of the market, this treadmill is a machine users can depend on, with some very high-tech bonuses.

This luxury treadmill features a welded steel frame, shock absorption to save your joints, a 4.0 HP motor system, and a 400-pound weight limit. While it doesn’t feature any decline settings, the Club Series Plus can incline up to 15 percent and reach a max speed of 12mph. Though this is one of the most expensive treadmills on the market, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you have the budget to add it to your home gym.

Main Takeaways

  • The Club Series+ features a lifetime warranty on the welded steel frame and 4.0 HP motor.
  • This treadmill features a patented FlexDeckⓇ Shock Absorption System to save your joints.
  • Life Fitness offers three different consoles for you to choose from. The SL is the standard model, the ST features an integrated HD TV, and the SE3 HD is compatible with various streaming platforms.

Life Fitness Club Series+ Treadmill Highlights

From its sleek design to its cushioned running belt, the Club Series+ is built to serve many different runners. Its welded steel frame and powerful motor support users of up to 400 pounds, while its cushioned deck benefits those looking for a tread that’s easy on the joints.

The option to upgrade from the standard SL console to either the ST or the SE3 HD will interest runners looking for more luxurious features. Both of these upgraded consoles are touchscreen. The ST features an integrated HD TV and 25 pre-programmed workouts, while the SE3 HD is the most luxurious option, allowing you to stream from video and music apps, like Netflix™ or Spotify™. This console can also browse the Internet, and on top of the 25 pre-programmed workouts, you gain access to the Life Fitness on-demand workouts.

These two consoles also allow runners to download and save their data using the Life Fitness Connect app. Just remember, these upgraded consoles require you to spend about $1,100 more for the ST and almost $3,000 more for the SE3 HD.

Who Should Buy the Life Fitness Club Series+ Treadmill

  • Anyone looking for a treadmill that is easy on their joints will enjoy the shock absorption system on this treadmill.
  • Those who prioritize a high quality build and want to invest in their fitness gear. The welded steel frame and 4.0 HP motor both feature a lifetime warranty, but this durability comes at a higher cost.
  • Tech-savvy runners looking for a treadmill with the latest upgrades are bound to enjoy the upgraded consoles offered here.

Who Shouldn’t Buy the Life Fitness Club Series+ Treadmill

  • Shoppers on a tight budget as this high-end treadmill carries a premium price tag.
  • Homeowners who don’t have the extra space since the Club Series+ is not foldable and could dominate your home gym.
  • Folks looking to incorporate decline settings into their workouts will want to look elsewhere.

Price

The Life Fitness Club Series+ is one of the most expensive treadmills on the market. The “cheapest” this treadmill can be is around $7,900 if you opt for the standard SL version. The ST is priced at around $9,100, and the SE3 HD will run you around $10,600. While the luxury features and lasting build may be worth the cost, you can find a solid treadmill out there for a fraction of the price. Life Fitness does allow you to finance this purchase through Affirm, so be sure to check out your options if you don’t want to pay for this in one lump sum.

Overall Build and Quality

This modern treadmill not only looks nice, but it’s also constructed to last a long time. Its sleek design highlights its high-tech features, while its welded steel frame ensures its durability. Life Fitness also added aluminum kick-resistant end caps on this treadmill to reinforce its stability.

Features

Some of the Club Series+ features will depend on the console you choose (such as a touchscreen monitor or streaming), but you’re getting a top-of-the-line product regardless of the model. The FlexDeckⓇ Shock Absorption System will save your knees, the tread features 3.5-inch rollers, and you can reach up to 12 mph for your sprints.

Incline range

While the Club Series+ doesn’t offer any decline settings, you can adjust the incline to 15 percent to strengthen your posterior chain.

Speed range

With speeds ranging from 0.5 to 12 mph, buyers can utilize this treadmill for various runs. Lifters can warm up with the Club Series+ before they head into their strength training, while Crossfitters can use the treadmill to implement sprints to improve their explosiveness.

Included workouts

The Life Fitness Club Series+ features a slew of pre-loaded workouts for you to utilize. The standard SL model features 22 workouts, while the ST and SE3 HD feature 25. The cool thing about the ST and SE3 HD is that they both offer interactive lifescape courses to provide the feel of running or walking outdoors. Although we weren’t able to find more information on the included workouts, we would imagine there are various interval programs and goal-based programs such as distance traveled and calories burned.

Display

Buyers can choose between the standard SL console, the ST, which features an integrated HD TV, or the SE3 HD to stream from apps like Netflix™. The SL console is a 20.5-inch LED display that can pair with your Apple WatchⓇ and offers Bluetooth connectivity for a heart rate monitor or fitness tracker. There are 22 pre-loaded workouts at your disposal, you have quick speed buttons, and all of your metrics are at the top of the display.

The ST is a 21.5-inch LCD touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity for your devices, the integrated HD TV is a nice touch, and you have interactive lifescape courses to mimic the outdoors on top of the 25 pre-loaded workouts.

The SE3 HD is the most luxurious of the three. This console is a 21.5-inch touchscreen that pairs with your Apple or Samsung watch, and heart rate monitor. You can stream various video and music apps, browse the internet, and take on-demand workout classes, in addition to the interactive lifescape courses and 25 pre-loaded workouts.

Fans

Despite its luxury features, the Club Series+ does not feature a built-in fan. On top of keeping it in a well-ventilated area, you might want to keep a trusty oscillating fan by your side during your sweat sessions.

Heart Rate Monitoring

Regardless of the model you choose, the Club Series+ treadmill offers users two heart rate monitoring options. You can grab the pulse sensors below the console or pair your own heart rate monitor via Bluetooth.

HDMI, USB, and Other Inputs

You’ll have a USB and AUX input regardless of the console you choose.

Bluetooth and Audio Options

This treadmill has no speakers, but you can always pair your Bluetooth headphones with the ST and SE3 HD consoles when streaming.

Water Bottle, Cup Holders, Tablet, and Phone Holders

The Club Series+ provides two cup holders for your water bottle that can also act as charging stations for smart devices.

Product Specs

The Club Series+ is a state-of-the-art treadmill that supports up to 400 pounds. It features a 4.0 HP motor, 3.5-inch rollers, and a shock absorption system within the deck to save your knees. The deck is also spacious to accommodate the occasional stumble while running.

Motor Size

This treadmill has a strong 4.0 HP motor that peaks at 8.0 HP. It’s worth mentioning that since it’s AC-powered, it’s more powerful than a DC-powered tread but also louder. For those who don’t know, AC stands for alternating current, while DC stands for direct current driven. DC motors start slowly, and in addition to running quieter, they also tend to respond to demands faster. So keep that in mind if you have family members or roommates that may get frustrated with the noise.

Running Area

The Club Series+ provides a much wider running area than most other treadmills. It measures 22” x 60” and allows runners to incorporate a variety of lateral movements.

Weight Capacity

This treadmill should support many different athletes with a high weight capacity of 400 pounds.

Folding Options and Dimensions

The Club Series+ treadmill measures 82″ x 36″ x 56″ and cannot fold. So if you’re tight on space in your home gym, you’ll want to keep your search ongoing for a more compact tread that can meet your needs.

Electrical Requirements

This treadmill requires a standard 120-volt outlet to be powered.

Belt Information and Roller Size

Life Fitness designed this treadmill to last longer by pairing a 2-ply belt with 3.5-inch front and back rollers. These rollers are much bigger than most standard treadmills and can help extend the belt’s life.

Cushioning and Feel

This treadmill provides runners a cushioned running surface through Life Fitness’ patented FlexDeckⓇ 2.0 Shock Absorption System. The eight custom-engineered Lifespring shock absorbers allow for more bend of the deck and can help to alleviate stress on the joints by absorbing up to 30 percent of shock — even if runners are performing a light warm-up.

Workout Apps and Compatibility

Runners can access the Life Fitness Connect app if they purchase the Club Series+ with the ST or SE3 HD console. Runners can create their custom workouts and use Bluetooth to upload and store their data. LF Connect also allows runners to use over a dozen compatible apps, like MyFitnessPal, Apple Health, and RunSocial.

Subscription Options

On top of the 25 pre-programmed workouts, buyers who opt for the SE3 HD console will have free access to Life Fitness’s digital library of instructor-led classes (a $70 yearly value). Life Fitness On Demand features in-studio recorded workouts for runners of all levels and includes programs for walking, jogging, sprinting, and incline runs. More classes are added regularly and range from 10 to 40 minutes.

Warranties

The Club Series+ features a lifetime warranty on the frame and monitor, 10 years on parts, one year on labor, and six months on cosmetic items.

Places to Buy

The Club Series+ is available for purchase through the Life Fitness website.

Company Information

Life Fitness has produced trustworthy cardio and strength training equipment for over 50 years. Buyers have 30 days to return their treadmill with a 20 percent restocking fee. If you need to reach out to a representative, you can contact them via phone at 1-800-527-6065, or chat with a team member on their website.

Final Word

The Life Fitness Club Series+ Treadmill is a high-tech product built to last thanks to its welded steel frame. It features a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, the FlexDeck® Shock Absorption System reduces stress on your joints, and the 3.5-inch rollers ensure the tread will keep turning for years.

While it doesn’t decline, you can adjust the incline up to 15 degrees, the speed tops out at 12 mph, and there are at least 22 pre-loaded workout programs to follow (depending on which console you choose, you may find even more). The 22-inch wide running surface allows for the occasional stumble, and the 4.0 HP motor provides the power needed for your runs. While it costs a pretty penny, the durability of this treadmill makes for a great purchase if you have the budget to add it to your home gym.
