Be like Ludacris and “roll out” those knots.

Recovery is a big part of an athlete’s workout routine. Foam rollers — like the Living.Fit Foam Roller — are a much cheaper alternative than seeing a massage therapist, or spending a couple of hundred bucks on a massage gun. Not all foam rollers are the same, though. Some are smooth, some feature deep ridges on the surface, and some are small enough to fit in a bag for a trip.

This foam roller from Living.Fit is 36 inches long, and features a six-inch diameter, which is great for targeting large muscle groups. The surface is covered with a ton of small hexagons to work out any kinks you may be experiencing, and the ethylene-vinyl acetate build ensures that it won’t lose shape in a few short months. If you’re looking for a reliable foam roller to warm up before working out, or for recovery post-workout, we think the Living.Fit Foam Roller is a really solid option thanks to its price and durable construction.

Main Takeaways

  • This foam roller is 36 inches long and has a diameter of six inches. This sizing offers a large surface area that can target all your bigger muscle groups.
  • The surface is covered with small hexagons that provide a solid amount of pressure to work out any knots you may have.
  • The ethylene-vinyl acetate build will prevent the roller from losing shape after use, and is designed to last longer than a foam roller that features expanded polypropylene.

Living.Fit Foam Roller Highlights

During our time with the Living.Fit foam roller, we noticed it helped us work out the soreness we had from exercising the day before. The overall size of this roller (36 inches long with a six-inch diameter) allowed us to lay down on the it and target our entire back. While we don’t necessarily think this size will make much of a difference for small muscles, we do believe it can help you effectively work on large muscle groups, such as your hamstrings, quads, and back. We also really enjoyed the textured surface. It’s littered with tiny hexagons that didn’t hurt to use, but still provided a solid amount of pressure.

Some foam rollers are flimsy and will lose shape over time, but we haven’t found that to be the case with this one. The ethylene-vinyl acetate used during the manufacturing process lends to a firm, soft roller that regains its shape after use, and will last you longer than a foam roller made from expanded polypropylene. Since this roller is three feet long, it may not be the best compact option to bring on the road though. However, it’s still pretty lightweight — after all, it is a foam roller.

It’s also priced at about $25. This is more than what you’ll pay for some low-quality foam rollers, but there are other rollers that will run you around $60. Considering the durable material and effective textured surface, we think this is a pretty solid deal.

Who Should Buy A Living.Fit Foam Roller

  • Folks who are looking for a dependable foam roller that won’t break down on them or lose its shape after a couple of months should consider this foam roller.
  • Anyone looking for an effective foam roller for a reasonable price will likely be happy with this roller.
  • Since there is a big surface area to utilize, you may have more success relieving your muscle soreness in large muscle groups, like your back or quads.

Who Shouldn’t Buy A Living.Fit Foam Roller

  • Anyone who travels a lot will most likely want to find a smaller foam roller, or one that can fold to squeeze into a bag.
  • The larger size here may make it a little more challenging to pinpoint any small muscles needing some TLC.
  • Athletes who want a more advanced foam roller may want to consider a vibrating roller.

Price

This foam roller from Living.Fit is available for about $30. When comparing this to the rest of the market, you’ll find it right around the middle of the competition. There are some cheaper foam rollers out there, but those are likely made of less durable material and may lose their shape faster. There are also some that will run you around $60, but some of those can fold to fit in a bag — so the added portability is likely driving that price. At the end of the day, this is a reasonable price tag for a durable and reliable foam roller.

Overall Build and Quality

Living.Fit designed their foam roller with a durable ethylene-vinyl acetate build. This material is a safe alternative to PVC — it’s relatively soft and flexible and designed to last longer than a roller made from expanded polypropylene. We also don’t think you should worry about it losing shape over time.

This roller will give a bit as you’re lying on it but will return to its original shape after a few seconds. It’s pretty large at 36 inches long and has a diameter of six inches, but it’s also really light. We think this foam roller is about as durable as they come, and will offer you over five years of usage (possibly more) so long as you treat it properly.

Features

Foam rollers have pretty basic builds, but the texture of this foam roller stood out to us. This roller features a textured surface littered with small hexagons. Not everyone is looking for the same pattern with their foam roller, but we think this is a happy medium of softness and abrasiveness to relieve soreness.

Surface Design

The texture of any product is an important feature, and that’s no different with a foam roller. While opinions may vary on this matter, we felt that the pattern Living.Fit implemented on their foam roller was highly effective. Some rollers are pretty smooth, others feature deep ridges, and some even feature a mix of both.

Living.Fit has hexagons scattered across the surface of this foam roller — they stick out a little bit, but not to the point where they hurt during use. We felt they provided the right amount of pressure to work out our sore muscles.

Color

Living.Fit offers their foam roller in Blue and Black. Companies tend to only offer their foam rollers in a couple of colors, so if you want more variety, you’ll want to keep searching.

Product Specs

Living.Fit uses a highly durable, flexible plastic for this foam roller. This ethylene-vinyl acetate build will allow the roller to maintain its shape for years. It’s a bit larger than some other foam rollers on the market, but this is ideal for hitting larger muscle groups.

Using the Living.Fit Foam Roller

It’s worth noting that due to its size, it might not be the best option for traveling. Some people may also find a smaller foam roller to be better suited for smaller muscles, but we didn’t find the size to be negative here.

Materials

A problem a lot of people face with foam rollers is them losing their shape after a short period of time. Thanks to the durable ethylene-vinyl acetate build on this roller, we don’t think you will need to worry about that. This form of plastic is the right mixture of firm, soft, and flexible — plus, it’s a safe alternative to PVC. After laying on the roller, we noticed it regained shape in just a few quick seconds.

Foam Roller Type

This is a “standard” foam roller. Some companies offer a vibrating roller that might have a higher level of effectiveness, while others offer rollers that can fold to fit in a small bag. While this roller doesn’t have many bells and whistles, we still found it highly effective at relieving our sore muscles.

Dimensions

This Living.Fit foam roller is 36 inches long and features a six-inch diameter. 36 inches may be a deal breaker for some frequent fliers as it will pretty difficult to take on a trip with you. But if you’re keeping it at home, this is a solid size since it can cover a large area.

Jake Using the Living.Fit Foam Roller On His Back

While a smaller foam roller may be better suited for smaller muscles (such as your calves, IT bands, or glutes), we didn’t feel compromised when targeting those areas.

Warranties

Living.Fit offers a five-year warranty on this foam roller. So if it becomes unusable, they’ll replace it for you. Since this is a high-quality product, we don’t think you have much to worry about.

Places to Buy

You can purchase your Living.Fit foam roller directly through Living.Fit’s website.

Company Information

Final Word

Foam rollers are a great way to quickly recover from any soreness you may be experiencing from your workouts or everyday life. They’re easy to use and are much cheaper than seeing a massage therapist. Living.Fit has crafted what we view to be a great foam roller that will last you a long time.

The overall size (36 inches long with a six-inch diameter) offers a large surface area for you to effectively target your muscles — especially larger muscle groups. The textured surface also applies the right amount of pressure on your muscles without causing any pain. Even though it might not be the best solution for anyone who travels a lot, we still think spending $25 on this foam roller is money well-spent thanks to its durable build and effective, textured surface.

FAQs

How much does the Living.Fit Foam Roller cost?

This foam roller will cost you about $30, which is a pretty solid deal. Cheaper options are available, but those will likely give out on you after a few months. We think this is worth the money if you’re looking for a long-lasting foam roller to add to your recovery routine.

Should I use the Living.Fit foam roller for a specific amount of time?

Since our bodies are all different, usage will vary from person to person. If you want to spend a few minutes rolling around on your foam roller, then go for it — just be sure to listen to your body and give it what it needs. For the most part, though, you should have a target time of no more than 90 seconds to prevent further injury.

Does the size of the Living.Fit foam roller make a difference in how you can use it?

While the overall size might not make the biggest difference in the world for everyone, it’s hard to ignore the lack of portability this foam roller provides. While you could certainly toss it in the back seat of your car, it will be pretty tricky to fit in a suitcase. In terms of actually using it, though, some might find the length more helpful for large muscle groups — but we didn’t have any issues with smaller muscles either.
