Jon Call — also known as Jujimufu — is known for his incredible feats of strength and flexibility. On Feb. 18, 2022, Jujimufu jolted the powerlifting world with his monster 318-kilogram (701.1-pound) squat PR. Notably, Call did not reveal his bodyweight at the time of the lift. His 701.1-pound squat PR video made the rounds on social media and drew appreciation from strength sports fans.
Although world record weight in the 110-kilogram class, where Jujimufu competes, is well into the 900-plus pound range, Jujimufu’s squat PR puts him in range of powerlifting greats David Ricks (93KG), John Haack (100KG), and Russel Orhii (83KG). Call performed the lift wearing a weightlifting belt, wrist wraps, and knee wraps on a monolith squat rack in his home gym. While the weight was clearly quite heavy, Jujimufu did not show any hiccups throughout the rep — check it out below, courtesy of his Instagram page:

Jujimufu posted videos of his squat PR from two different angles to better show his technique and depth. In the second video — shot from the front — he is seen sniffing what is presumably ammonia before getting under the barbell. “The Anabolic Acrobat” has competed in three sanctioned powerlifting meets thus far in his competitive powerlifting career, according to Open Powerlifting. He set competition squat PRs during the 2020 and 2021 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) Hybrid Showdown II and III competitions.

During the 2020 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) Hybrid Showdown II, Jujimufu hit a 302.5-kilogram (666.9-pound) squat, an equivalent deadlift, and a 787.5-kilogram (1,736.1-pound) total. He matched that total at the 2021 WRPF Hybrid Showdown III, but improved his squat to his competition best 305 kilograms (672.4 pounds).
Call stepped on a bodybuilding stage for the first time in 2021 at the NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia in Orlando, FL. He competed in the super heavyweight division and placed fifth, a commendable rank for his debut bodybuilding competition.

Jujimufu’s shot to fame in 2016 after making an appearance on episode 1,102 of America’s Got Talent. He won over the audience and judges by performing a split across two chairs while holding a barbell overhead. Additionally, he performed a split while holding supermodel Heidi Klum overhead.
Call began strength training and practicing martial arts at age 13. Strength training can be credited for his insane strength and martial arts contributed to his flexibility and balance. He often partners with strongmen and bodybuilders on his YouTube channel, and his collaboration videos suggest he could go head-to-head with pro athletes from both sports. Now that he has experience competing in powerlifting and bodybuilding shows, it will be interesting to see what Jujimufu has up his sleeve for the future.
