When looking to elevate your home gym to support your strength training goals, a logical place to start is by researching some of the best power racks available today. The T3 Power Rack from Titan Fitness is one of our favorites for garage gyms everywhere thanks to its upgraded construction, boasting laser-cut holes and improved welds as well as its customizable depth and height. The T3’s available attachments also give you plenty of opportunity to create a home gym oasis that rivals even the most popular weightlifting centers.
Based on our experience testing over 30 different racks and rigs, we feel that the Titan T3 Power Rack is a good entry point for garage gym novices given its approachable price point and the slew of available accessories. That said, the lack of included safety features does mean you’ll need to make some extra purchases to craft the most supportive setup possible. In this Titan T3 Power Rack review, we’ll outline all the specs and metrics of this high-quality rig and offer some comparisons to other top profiles in the category. For more information on how we test equipment for our content, be sure to read our BarBend equipment testing methodology page.
This rack is plenty durable and simple to use, ready to withstand heavy lifts and the occasional dropped weight. You can also customize the height and depth.

- This Titan profile comes with a 1-year warranty, which is shorter coverage than the lifetime packages we’ve found with other power racks.

Similar to some of the best squat racks on the market, the Titan T3 (also marketed as the Titan Fitness T-3) is constructed from 11-gauge steel with a powder-coated finish available in Blue, Red, or Black colorways. The uprights measure 2 inches wide by 3 inches deep, which differs from the 3-inch by 3-inch square steel tubing that’s become popular as of late.
In terms of product dimensions, you have the option between interior depths of 24 and 36 inches, while the interior width remains constant at 42 inches. For reference, this maximum 10.5-square-foot footprint is less than that of your standard loveseat (15.31 square feet). (1)
You can also choose between height options of 82 and 91 inches. While the extra rack height can be beneficial for taller athletes, it’s always important to remember your clearance. Break out a tape measure prior to purchase and ensure your garage gym can fit this rack with ease. Standard ceiling heights measure 8 feet, which should house this rig comfortably, but you’ll need to account for some overhead room if you plan on performing pull-ups with the built-in pull-up bars. (2)
Rather than a completely welded profile, the Titan T3 Power Rack is constructed using heavy-duty bolts. While bolted joints can be weaker than welded joints, we do appreciate this component, as it allows for easier assembly and also gives you room to balance the entire rig more feasibly if placing it atop uneven ground. Speaking of placement, Titan Fitness recommends bolting this power rack down for optimal safety. We share this notion, too — even though this is a very durable build, heavily loaded barbells could potentially topple the entire silhouette if left unbolted.
As far as the rackable weight capacity of the Titan Fitness T3 Power Rack, the brand lists its maximum rack rating at 1,100 pounds while the whole profile can support up to 4,400 pounds. This can be excellent for novice and heavy lifters alike trying to lift and store some of the best weight plates across the silhouette.
“You need to pay attention to the hole size and spacing when choosing a power rack,” notes Amanda Capritto, certified personal trainer and our expert contributor. “These factors will determine which accessories are compatible with your rig and also dictate how your rack feels when set up for lifting protocols.” The T3 Power Rack features 11/16-inch laser-cut holes across the uprights with Westside hole spacing (1-inch) through the “bench zone” and 2-inch spacing through the remainder of the post. The sides also feature 6-inch spacing for other attachments such as weight plate storage horns.
When it comes to accessories, the Titan T3 series has a slew of available options from dip attachments to landmines, multi-grip pull-up bars, and more. We do recommend looking at the available attachments when purchasing this power rack, too, since the T3 does not come with included safety features beyond standard J-cups. If you want pipe safeties, spotter arms, or safety straps, you’ll need to add them to your cart. Additionally, the 2-inch by 3-inch upright dimensions mean you’re sort of handcuffed to Titan-branded attachments — other add-ons built for 3-inch by 3-inch uprights will not work with this setup.

Lastly, this Titan T3 Power Rack features a starting price of $519.99. This is the cost of the T3 at its smallest dimensions, and the price will increase with each customization or added attachment. Make sure to keep tabs on your order total as you build out your rig so as to not go over budget (trust us, it’s easier than you think).

- Athletes unable to securely bolt their power racks to the floor

Our Experience Training With the Titan T3 Power Rack
We at BarBend have had the pleasure of testing and trialing 32 different power cages, squat stands, and racks over the years. In that time, we’ve come to understand what suffices for high-quality home gym equipment. We put this Titan T3 Series Power Rack through similar tests, examining the rig in categories such as workmanship, construction, durability, available customizations, and (of course) price. To make our findings more digestible, we then rated these results on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest).
Durable Steel Construction
While the starting price of roughly $520 puts the T3 Power Rack amongst some of the best budget home gym equipment, there’s no need to fear that the lower cost reflects shoddy craftsmanship. We appreciate Titan’s use of 11-gauge steel across the build, as this thicker material can better withstand regular wear and tear than higher-gauged steel or aluminum. (3) “I also like how this power rack is fixed together with sturdy bolts,” notes our tester, a former Olympian. “Yes, I’m a sucker for a solid weld, but the bolts allow for some maneuvering during setup that can eliminate any wobble over uneven surfaces.”
We rate the durability at construction each at 4.5 out of 5, too, given this power rack’s weight rating of 1,100 pounds. This indicates that the T3 can withstand even the heaviest squat days and rack pulls without breaking a sweat. That said, we do recommend bolting this rig to the ground, if possible. While we’ve yet to see the T3 topple over due to high weight totals, there’s always a chance that inertia could take control and ruin your session (and home gym setup, not to mention injury risk).
Upgraded Welds and Holes
Titan Fitness has been in business since 2003, so it’s understandable that the brand has made some adjustments to manufacturing over the years. No area of the T3’s build exemplifies this more than in the upgraded joint welds and laser-cut holes. “One of the main gripes I had with previous Titan racks was the shoddily punched holes across the uprights,” our tester, a former Olympian, says. “Nowadays, the brand is using robotic welding machines and laser-cutting mechanisms that create a cleaner, more resilient profile. There’s no friction when sliding attachments into place, and I enjoy how smooth the joints are at each bend.”
In addition to the improved welds and holes, we rate the materials at 4.5 out of 5 given the clean, balanced powdercoat that covers the T3 Power Rack from top to bottom. You also have the option of choosing a Red or Blue colorway if a classic Black rig isn’t your cup of tea.
The main reason we dock the Titan T3 in this category is the lack of laser-etched numbering along the uprights. This added convenience can make setting up your J-hooks and safety pins an easier endeavor, eliminating that off-kilter look you end up with when racking your best barbell for a workout. This could be due to the limited real estate available along the 2-inch upright width, but it would be a nice touch for Titan to add in future renditions.
Wide Range of Accessories
OK, so a laundry list of add-ons and attachments may not be an absolute necessity for beginner athletes — these accessories can quickly make your total costs skyrocket — but the availability of said extras is nice to have, especially if you plan to ever expand your home gym. Thankfully, the Titan T3 Power Rack has an abundance of available attachments compatible with its 2-inch by 3-inch uprights including weight plate holders, dip bars, band pegs, pulley systems for rows and pulldowns, and much more.
In addition to the bolt-on attachments, Titan also offers multiple safety add-ons for the T3 series including pin and pipe sets, spotter arms, and squatting straps. This can help you customize your garage gym so that every lift is as safe as possible. However, we score the accessories at 4 out of 5 given that the base package doesn’t include these aforementioned safeties. Other squat racks we’ve tested come with at least pins and pipes to support back squats and rack pulls. That said, though, Titan-branded pins and pipes are available for roughly $65, so the add-on shouldn’t completely throw your budget out of whack.
As a final note regarding attachments, we strongly recommend sticking to Titan-branded add-ons for the T3 Power Rack given the 2-inch by 3-inch upright dimensions. This non-squared design is beginning to be phased out by other companies for more resilient 3-inch by 3-inch setups, and third-party attachments are following suit with compatible builds. Rather than chancing it with ill-fitting equipment, it’s best to stick with strength training accessories that were actually made for your rig of choice.
What to Consider Before Buying the Titan T3 Power Rack
Purchasing a power rack for your home gym can be one of the biggest investments you make toward your fitness goals. As such, there are a few focal points worth pondering over when trying to build out the rig of your dreams. Here are some factors to consider before finalizing your online cart.
- Product Dimensions: You shouldn’t be looking for a massive power rack if your space cannot house the rig comfortably. Take some measurements of your floor plan and look for power racks that fit within these dimensions. “You should also be considering if a power rack is even right for your training needs,” says Amanda Capritto, certified personal trainer and our expert contributor. “While they look fantastic, power racks can be overkill for some. In these situations, some of the best folding squat racks or half racks may be just as effective.”
- Rackable Capacity: Many power racks can support racked weight totals of up to 1,000 pounds. Think about your max lifting totals and seek out a rig that can support these weights and then some. If you routinely perform heavy squats or rack pulls, it can also be wise to look for a power rack that can be bolted to the ground for extra stability.
- Safety Features: Sure, having a training partner who knows how to spot someone in key lifts is a great safety measure, but you likely won’t have this luxury each time you hit your home gym for a session. As such, it’s important to look for power racks with available safety features like J-cups, spotter arms, and straps to ensure you’re staying efficiently protected throughout your movements.
- Available Attachments: While you may not need many add-ons at the start of your garage gym build, you may want a few attachments down the road. Take a look at compatible accessories before making a decision on your power rack of choice, as this can make future expansion more feasible. Pay attention to upright dimensions, too, and whether you need to stick to brand-specific accessories or can venture off into the realm of third-party manufacturers for a better potential deal.
- Price: Capritto notes, “Even budget-friendly power racks can become expensive through attachments and customizations.” As such, it’s imperative that you find out your available budget before building out your rig online. Crunch some numbers, settle on a number you can comfortably afford, and go from there. Remember, too, that attachments can always be added on at a later date — no need for a high-priced dip station if you can’t afford it right now (and don’t foresee yourself adding dips to your daily regimen anytime soon).
Titan T3 Power Rack Vs. Competitors
Like any piece of fitness equipment, the T3 Power Rack is not without competition these days. Many brands are manufacturing top-notch rigs capable of fitting cleanly in any garage gym setting. Two comparable profiles to the T3 include the PR-5000 from REP Fitness and the Bells of Steel Pour-Post Hydra Rack. While both of these silhouettes are more costly than the T3 with starting prices near $900, they do feature more customization options when it comes to height and rack depth. Plus, both the REP Fitness PR-5000 and BoS Hydra racks are constructed from 3-inch by 3-inch 11-gauge steel — the popular geometry of today’s power cages. Ordering and Assembling the Titan T3 Power Rack
Ordering your Titan Fitness T3 Power Rack is similar to any online transaction, and the brand does offer free shipping on all items. Plus, most orders placed by 1PM CT will ship that same day, according to the brand.
Given the bolted hardware used across the Titan T3 Power Rack, our tester, a former Olympian, states that assembling this home gym equipment can be a DIY project. “Of course, though, I’d recommend a helping set of hands when it comes to holding the heavier components in position,” they add. Additionally, we recommend saving any bolt tightening for last, as this can allow the components to settle properly across your flooring. This can be especially helpful when building your T3 overtop uneven ground like a poured garage floor.
Places to Buy the Titan T3 Power Rack

To reach the brand with any inquiries, you can use the Live Chat feature at the bottom of titan.fitness or call 888-410-1503.
In terms of online reviews, the T3 Power Rack remains a positive profile amongst Titan customers earning a 4.85 out of 5 based on the 279 responses to titan.fitness. “The T3 Power Rack is the best power rack on a budget! Serious gains for a reasonable price,” states one positive customer review.
Warranties
Titan offers a 1-year warranty for the T3 Power Rack, protecting the equipment from defects in material and workmanship. Extended coverage can be purchased through Mulberry, though, giving you an additional 2 or 3 years of support, depending on your package of choice.
Final Thoughts on the Titan T3 Power Rack
For strength athletes on a budget or those just getting started with building out their garage gym, the Titan T3 Power Rack can be an excellent foundation. You can customize the depth and height to your liking, and we like the array of attachments available, as well. While the 2-inch by 3-inch upright dimensions aren’t the most popular these days, we still feel this rig can be more than enough to support your weight training goals long beyond the included 1-year warranty timeline.
When shopping around for a power rack, it’s important to think about two factors — available space and budget. You’ll need to take some measurements prior to your search to ensure you’re not left with mounds of steel at your front door with nowhere to install them. Plus, it helps to focus on necessary add-ons first and worry about additional attachments later, as these extras can seriously alter your order total (and in a hurry). Loaded with this information, we’re confident you can take on this muscle-boosting renovation to your home gym space with ease.
