How to Watch the 2023 CrossFit Open
The kickoff to the 2023 CrossFit season was on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023. All eyes in the CrossFit community turned to Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain, where the announcement for CrossFit Open workout 23.1 occured. The first to attempt 23.1 were elite Games competitors Laura Horvath, Gabriela Migała, Björgvin Karl Gudmundsson, and Lazar Đukić.
Workout 23.2 will be announced from CrossFit Bison in Midland Park, NJ, on Feb. 23, 2023. The elite athlete match will pit Pat Vellner against 2022 CrossFit Games runner-up Roman Khrennikov.
Those who wish to watch this and all future live announcements for the 2023 Open can do so by tuning in to the main show on the CrossFit Games YouTube channel. The action will start at 21:00 CET (Noon PT, 3 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. GMT, 7 a.m. AEDT).

- Workout 23.1 — Announced on Feb. 16, 2023 | Submissions Due Feb. 20, 2023
- Workout 23.2 — Announced on Feb. 23, 2023 | Submissions Due Feb. 27, 2023
- Workout 23.3 — Announced on March 2, 2023 | Submissions Due March 6, 2023
The movement standards for each Open workout will be released alongside each workout’s announcement.

2023 CrossFit Season Equipment List
The following equipment is needed to perform the expected programming for the 2023 season, which includes the Open:
- Barbells — 35 pounds (15 kilograms), 45 pounds (20 kilograms)
- Standard Bumper Plates, Change Plates, and Collars
- Dumbbells — 70 pounds (32.5 kilograms), 50 pounds (22.5 kilograms), 35 pounds (15 kilograms), and 20 pounds (10 kilograms)
- Kettlebells — 16 kilograms, 24 kilograms, and 32 kilograms
- Medicine Balls — 20 pounds (nine kilograms), 14 pounds (six kilograms), and 10 pounds (four kilograms)
- Plyo Boxes — 20 inches, 24 inches, and 30 inches
- Gymnastics Rings
- Jump Ropes
- Concept2 Rower
- Pull-Up Bar — to perform movements including but not limited to:
- Wall Space — to perform movements including but not limited to:
- Clear Floor Space (25 feet)
- *Climbing Ropes (15 feet)
- *GHD
*The climbing ropes and GHDs won’t be required for the Open itself but might be used during subsequent stages of online competition.
