A lot of big lifts happen in training by elite athletes in strength sports. Athletes like Jamal Browner can deadlift over 900 pounds in a conventional stance, three different athletes can shatter squat world records on the same day at competitions like the 2022 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) The Ghost Clash, but it is rare for what could be explained as a powerlifting prodigy to so consistency score world record level lifts. That’s the case with French powerlifter Tiffany Chapon.
The 20-year old Chapon took to her Instagram page on Feb. 21, 2022, to share a video wherein she squats 160 kilograms (352.7 pounds) raw. As Chapon competes in the 47-kilogram weight class, that lift is nearly three and a half times her competition bodyweight. It is also a full seven kilograms over the current world record of 153 kilograms (337.3 pounds), which she scored at the 2021 EPF European Classic Powerlifting Championships, where she won gold. Check out Chapon’s gargantuan training lift in the video below. It was performed raw while wearing a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps:

Chapon’s grip on the barbell is relatively narrow compared to other lifters. Her stance under the barbell is also rather narrow. However, her compact approach to heavy squats works for her. Although she did appear to endure a grind on the ascent of the squat, she nearly touched her butt to her heels at the bottom of the decent — talk about champion mobility.
According to Open Powerlifting, Chapon has competed in seven sanctioned powerlifting meets since her debut at the 2020 FFForce Silent Worker Meet. Of those seven contests, she stood atop the podium in five of them, including the 2021 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships and the aforementioned 2021 EPF European Classic Powerlifting Championships. Despite her youth, Chapon already holds the following four world records:
Tiffany Chapon — Powerlifting World Records
- Squat | 43KG — 122.5 kilograms (270.1 pounds)
- Squat | 47KG — 153 kilograms (337.d pounds)
- Deadlift | 43KG — 146.5 kilograms (323 pounds)
- Total | 43KG — 339 kilograms (747.4 pounds)
Chapon did not state when she plans to step on the competitive lifting platform next. Considering her training squat above is only a single kilogram shy of the second heaviest ever squat in the next weight class up (52KG), and Chapon has already matched the current world record total at 47-kilograms in training, it seems like Chapon exceeding her current raw squat world record is only a matter of time.
