The 2022 Rogue Invitational is scheduled for Oct. 28-30, 2022, at the Dell Diamond stadium in Austin, TX. Less than two weeks before the kick-off of one of the biggest events on the CrossFit calendar, the Individual male athlete roster received a sudden shakeup.
Guilherme Malheiros is no longer on the roster — he has been replaced with Henrik Haapalainen. It’s not clear when that change on Rogue’s roster occurred exactly.
The reason for Malheiros’s apparent withdrawal has not been announced at the time of this article’s publication, nor has any information been shared on Malheiros’s or Haapalainen’s social media. Haapalainen finished in sixth place in the Rogue Invitational qualifiers.
In the caption of his Instagram post below, he said he “got a spot to compete,” without mentioning anything regarding Malheiros:

Who Is Henrik Haapalainen?
Haapalainen is no stranger to competing in elite CrossFit contests, particularly the Rogue Invitational. In 2021, Haapalainen finished 17th overall. For reference, Malheiros finished fifth in 2021.
Haapalainen finished the 2022 CrossFit Open with a worldwide rank of 547th as an Individual. He advanced through the 2022 European Quarterfinals in 12th place and ranked as the runner-up at the 2022 CrossFit Strength In Depth Semifinal to earn his second CrossFit Games appearance.
In 2021, Haapalainen finished his CrossFit Games debut in 18th place. He returned in 2022 to a final rank of 24th. According to Fantasy Fitnessing, his average finish across the 14 CrossFit Games results was 21.4. His average finish across the 15 events at the 2021 Games was 15.7.
