2022 Rogue Invitational CrossFit Event 3 Results — Horvath and Mathew Win the Back Attack
It was a quick turnaround for the athletes competing at the prestigious 2022 Rogue Invitational inside Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX on Friday afternoon. After having their core and shoulders put through the wringer in Event Two, it was time for their legs to feel the pain.
Two-time Games runner-up Laura Horvath and 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games rookie Nick Mathew were up to the challenge as they each recorded resounding wins in the second event of the day and third overall.

Event Three Workout — “Back Attack”
Five-four-three-two-one reps of:

25-20-15-10-five reps of:
- Box Jump-Overs — Men: 24-inch box | Women: 20-inch box
Event Three Results

Women’s Event Three Highlights

Turner’s second-place finish was a huge improvement over her prior event finishes of 12th and 17th.
Nineteen-year-old Canadian Anikha Greer also bounced back from earlier event disappointments with a third-place finish with a time of 5:04.79.
On the opposite side of the spectrum was Danielle Brandon, who struggled with the back squat, only completing two reps and finishing 19th.
Men’s Event Three Highlights
Nick Mathew did Nick Mathew things in Event Three, crop-top and all, winning his heat and ultimately the event with a time of 4:09.00, over a minute better than anyone in his heat.
Canadian Jeffrey Adler picked up his second runner-up finish, winning his heat in 4:27.01 ahead of Justin Medeiros.

Patrick Vellner and Roman Khrennikov raced each other to finish, with the Canadian edging the Russian and taking fourth place overall.
After back-to-back third-place finishes in the previous workouts, Ricky Garard placed 18th in an event he was not expected to do well in.
Up Next at the 2022 Rogue Invitational
As with this event, the weather delay pushed back the start of the third and final event of the day and gives the athletes not much time to rest with a Rogue twist on classic CrossFit Hero WOD, “DT with a Spin,” which was set to start at 8:25 EST.
The coming weekend’s competition will be live-streamed on the Rogue YouTube channel. Make sure to tune into BarBend’s 2022 Rogue Invitational event coverage and results page for up-to-date results.
